AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF ASSISTANT SYNOD SECRETARY

The Very Rev ’d Ebenezer Grantson is a native of Ekumfi Narkwa in the Central Region. He was born at Dunkwa-on-Offin on the 2^nd of November, 1967 to Mr. Charles Emmanuel Grantson of blessed memory and Madam Mary Aidoo.

He had his basic education at the A.B.A preparatory school in Tarkwa where his father was working at the Tarkwa Goldfields.

He continued at the Ekumfi Eyisam Methodist primary when his father went on retirement and settled in his hometown in 1973. He however left for Sekondi to live with his elder siblings and continued at the old hospital middle school completing standard seven in 1983. Even though he passed the common entrance examination, he could not continue his secondary school education due to financial constraints. He stayed home for 2 years and later gained admission to the St. John school in Sekondi from 1985-1990. He then went to Komenda Training College now (Komenda College of Education) to be trained as a professional teacher. He now holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management (M.A) from the University of Cape Coast and Bachelor of Theology (BTh) from the Trinity Theological seminary.

CALLED TO THE MINISTRY

Osofo Grantson after teaching for some time decided to further his education but kept on accepting positions in the church. The Lord reckoned on him but he was adamant, till the Superintendent Minister of the Sekondi Wesley Cathedral at that time, The RT Rev Kow Egyir called him one day and said, ‘’) wo Nyame refr3w’ ntsi b) ho mpae’’.  Meaning, the Lord is calling you so pray about it. On hearing this, he avoided meeting the Superintendent Minister.

Finally, in the 1999, he accepted the call and was candidated by the Very Rev Charles Aaron Ekuban of blessed memory. He then gained admission in the year 2000 and completed in 2003. He was commissioned at the Ebenezer Cathedral-Madina and was ordained in 2006 at the ST. Luke Cathedral-Akim Oda.

FAMILY LIFE

Osofo Grantson is married to Mrs. Joana Grantson and they are blessed with three children. Charlotte, Fiifi and Maame Efua Grantson.
